About DuPage County
DuPage County was formed in 1839 and was named after the DuPage River that flows through it. DuPage County is now the second largest county by population in Illinois and holds some of the largest cities in Illinois. Eleven colleges and universities call DuPage County home including the largest Community College in Illinois, the College of DuPage, as well as Wheaton College, one of the most well-known and respected Christian colleges in the country. Also, there are multiple Blue Ribbon winning elementary and high schools located throughout the county.
